Dear AMEA member,
AMEA members have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new two-year contract with the City of Anaheim. Nearly 500 members showed up to vote—a massive turnout that proves what we already knew: AMEA members are engaged, united, and ready to fight for what they deserve.
As a full-time employee, this contract delivers:
12% in wage increases over two years
- 9% general wage increase, retroactive to July 4, 2025
- 3% general wage increase effective July 1, 2026
A brand-new Longevity Pay program starting July 2026:
- 3% of base pay at 10 years of service
- 6% of base pay at 20 years of service
AMEA member longevity pay has never previously existed. We made it happen.
Additional wins across 20+ contract provisions
- Bereavement Leave: 3 days increased to 5 days
- One additional floating holiday
- Comp Time accrual increased to 120 hours
- City contribution to RHS increased by 1%

What’s Next
The ratified agreement will next go to the Anaheim City Council for final adoption.
This victory belongs to you. To the members who submitted a record number of proposals. To those who packed AMEA Board meetings month after month. To the nearly 40 members who showed up on a workday to speak directly to the City Council about vacancies, pay, and respect.
The City heard your strong and united voice. We now have a contract that reflects it.
In Solidarity,
AMEA
