AMEA members,
AMEA grieves the loss of Anthony Deloya, who passed away on Aug. 20, 2026. Anthony, 29, was born and raised in Anaheim and earned his degree at Cal State Fullerton. He served his community for 6 years at the Anaheim Police Department. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Anthony described him as kind, with integrity and a dedication to his service.
During this time, your AMEA Executive Board wants every member to know how they can support the Deloya family.
DONATE VACATION HOURS (open to Police Department employees)
Chief Cid has authorized a one-time voluntary vacation hour buyout. All donated hours will be converted to a direct payout to the family. To contribute, complete the donation form (here) and submit it no later than Thursday, Sept. 3. Scan and email the completed form to dbest@anaheim.net or send it via route mail to Danielle Best.
CONTRIBUTE TO THE GOFUNDME (open to all City employees)
The Deloya family has established a GoFundMe to help with expenses. Any member who would like to give can do so here.
