
2026 AMEA Scholarships—Now Open!

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 AMEA Scholarships!
Recognizing the value and importance of higher education, AMEA’s Board of Directors is offering two (2) $1,000 scholarships to an AMEA member or for the child or stepchild of an AMEA member (or whose legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is an AMEA member). Eligibility is contingent on enrollment or acceptance with intent to enroll in an accredited college, university, community college, or trade/vocational/technical school. Applications must be submitted by June 24, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the July meeting of the AMEA Board of Directors.
2026 AMEA Scholarship Criteria
Application Deadline: June 24, 2026
- AMEA will award two (2) scholarships of $1,000 each.
- Scholarship recipients shall be selected based upon the following factors:
- Scholarship application.
- An essay not to exceed 500 words, which describes how the applicant will use their educational experience to further their career goals. Care should be given when responding to the stated topic. The essay is the most important factor during the selection process and it will carry more weight that any other factor.
- Copies of high school transcripts (unofficial copies accepted) or proof of current enrollment or intent to enroll in an accredited college, university, community college, or trade/vocational/technical school. If currently enrolled in a higher education institution, high school transcripts are not needed.(Materials will not be returned.)
- Current GPA 2.5 or Higher.
- Two recommendation letters, one personal and one professional (teachers, friends, co-worker, supervisor, family, etc.)
- An applicant must be enrolled (or must intend to enroll and subsequently enroll) in an accredited college, university, community college, or trade/vocational/technical school for the Fall 2026 quarter or semester.
- An applicant must either be a current AMEA member or be the child or stepchild of a current AMEA member (or be an individual whose legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is an AMEA member). The parent, guardian, or financially responsible grandparent must have been an AMEA member at the time the scholarship application is submitted and must be an AMEA member at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- All applications must be USPS postmarked or delivered to AMEA no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Alternatively, the applicant can scan and email the completed application and supporting materials to admin@anaheimamea.org. Applications and accompanying materials will not be returned.
- The selection of scholarship recipients shall be made by a Selection Committee appointed by the AMEA President.
- The selection of recipients shall be at the sole discretion of the Selection Committee without the right of appeal. Recipients will be selected based on their overall qualifications. Superior grade point averages or test scores may not be determinative in the selection process.
- A final selection will be made in early July. Each applicant will be contacted concerning the outcome of their application.
- Awards will be presented at the July 30, 2026 Board of Director’s meeting.
