The Anaheim City Council approved your new two-year contract on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The MOU you ratified in January is now in effect.
Your 9% wage increase is active in the pay period beginning Feb. 27 and will be reflected on your March 20 paycheck. We are working with the City on a timeline for retroactive pay back to July 4, 2025, and will update you as soon as that date is confirmed.
As a reminder, here is what your contract delivers:
12% in wage increases over two years
- 9% general wage increase, retroactive to July 4, 2025
- 3% general wage increase effective July 1, 2026

This contract happened because of you. Nearly 500 members showed up to vote. Close to 40 members spoke directly to the City Council on a workday about vacancies, pay, and respect. Members packed AMEA Board meetings month after month and submitted a record number of proposals.
The City heard your strong and united voice. We now have a contract that reflects it.
